U8 Cricket Blast

​

The U8 Woolworths Cricket Blast program is delivered by Lindfield Cricket Club in partnership with Cricket NSW. It is suited to suited for girls and boys, aged 6-8, in Year 1 or 2 at school. It is a great stepping stone towards U9s participation cricket with all equipment supplied.
 

Led by experienced Lindfield Senior Club players, this fun, fast-paced format focuses on skill development through modified, small-sided games. It’s ideal for children who are beginning to bowl with a straight arm and can hit a moving ball - especially those who’ve completed our U7 Skills Clinic or are slightly older but new to cricket.

Training & Games
 

• Friday night training (with Bar & BBQ)

  🕔 5:00–6:00 PM

• Saturday morning games (with BBQ)

  🕗 8:00–9:30 AM
  There’s no scoring, ladders, or finals - just fun, skill-building cricket in a welcoming environment. Players spend time both in games and rotating through skill zones.

Registration & Cost

• Season runs October 2025 – March 2026 (aligned with the school term)

• Suited for girls and boys, aged 6-8, in Year 1 or 2 at school

• Registration Fee: $300

  • Includes:

    • Lindfield Club shirt, shorts & hat

    • Cricket Blast player pack

    • Friday night coaching support & training program for parent coaches

    • Saturday match coordination & coaching

    • All training and game-day equipment

    • Cricket Australia player fee ($41) & Cricket NSW player fee ($25)
       

Note: After registering, the club will contact you on how to order your clothing.

If your child is currently in Kindergarten, we recommend enrolling in our U7 Lindfield Skills Clinic instead.

Woolworths Cricket Blast is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your kids, and you might even learn some new cricket skills along the way. Plus, getting you involved can make a positive impact on their enjoyment, skill progression and overall achievement.

Girls in Cricket

We encourage the formation of girls-only teams, and girls who are slightly older but new to the game are welcome to join this level. Lindfield is proud to support their transition to U9 cricket with specialist coaching and ongoing development. With female participation more than doubling in recent years, cricket is now one of the fastest-growing sports for girls.
