U8 Cricket Blast

​

The U8 Woolworths Cricket Blast program by Cricket NSW is run by Lindfield Senior Club players (previously known as Master Blasters).  It is suited to suited for girls and boys, aged 6-8, in Year 1 or 2 at school. It is a great stepping stone towards U9s participation cricket with all equipment supplied. It is designed for players who can bowl with a straight arm & hit a moving ball. Involves modified, small-sided matches. Typically players who have completed our Skills Clinic or older players who are new to cricket join this program

Play modified games of cricket in a fun and social setting.

  • Every kid gets a chance to bat, bowl and field

  • Make new friends or organise a group to play together

  • All equipment supplied, parents join in the fun

  • Friday night coaching support and training program design by Lindfield club senior players for parent coaches

  • Saturday Cricket Blast coordination and coaching

  • Training & game day equipment is supplied

With all events aligned with the school term, players will be allocated to a team and will participate in Friday night training by a parent coach or team paid coach. Coaches will be guided by the clubs weekly program with the support of an appointed head coach and club senior players. Game day on Saturday is against St Ives and Pymble at Hassall Park from 8:00 – 9:30AM, with a rotating schedule to ensure that each team plays a new team each week. There is no keeping of scores, ladder, or finals series with the emphasis on participation to develop skills. It’s a great atmosphere with plenty to do whilst waiting to bat with more coaching and skills acquisition at the centre of the ground.

 

We encourage girls only teams to be created and permit girls to be older if they are new to cricket. The following season, Lindfield will support their progression to U9s competition with specialist coaching and support. With female participation in cricket more than doubling in the last five years, it has become one of the fastest growing girls sports.

Pricing information:

  • The player registration cost for season 2023/24 is $280

 

Registration includes: 

  • Lindfield training shorts, top and hat (you will be contacted by the club after registration on short and top sizing)

  • The choice of 1 of 3 different Cricket Blast packs & a Blast Pass! 

  • Friday night coaching support & training program for parent coaches

  • Saturday Cricket Blast Competition coordination & coaching

  • Training & game day equipment supplied

  • a Cricket Australia player fee of $36 & Cricket NSW player fee of $25

Suitable for:

  • Woolworths Cricket Blast is an U8 program suited for girls and boys, aged 6-8, in Year 1 or 2 at school

  • If your child is in Kindergarten it is recommended that they attend our U7 Lindfield Skills Clinic


Season Dates:

14 October 2023 - March 2024
 

There are 2 events that players are required to attend:
1. Friday night club team training with Bar & BBQ between 5:00 - 6:00 PM, Lindfield Oval Upper, Tryon Road
2. Saturday game between 8:00 - 9:30 AM, Hassall Park St Ives, Mona Vale Road
