Lindfield Cricket

What form of cricket should I register for in 2026/27?

Lindfield Cricket offers a wide range of junior cricket programs in Sydney’s North Shore. Whether your child is picking up a bat for the first time or ready for competitive club matches, we have a program for them.

Unsure about age groups? Junior cricket age groups are generally determined by your child's age on 31 August 2026. For full details and date-of-birth brackets, please view our Lindfield Junior Cricket - Age Eligibility

1) BEGINNERS & EARLY INTRODUCTION

U7 Lindfield Cricket Skills Clinic

Best for young children learning the absolute basics of ball skills and teamwork.

  • Ages: 5–6 years old (Kindergarten)

  • When: Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM

  • Where: Lindfield Oval

  • Season: 12-week program (October to February) with wet weather make-ups.

Our popular Saturday morning program introduces young players to cricket and general ball skills in a fun, supportive, and social setting. No prior experience is needed, and parents participate alongside their children!

Each session includes skill-based games and fun, modified cricket matches. Plus, families can enjoy breakfast from the famous Lindfield BBQ afterwards!

2) BOYS/MIXED COMPETITIONS

NSJCA Junior Competition (U9-U17 "Whites")

Best for players ready for formal weekend club cricket against other North Shore clubs.

  • Who: Boys & Girls aged 8–17 (U9 through to U17)

  • Game Days: Saturdays or Sundays (depending on your specific age group and match format)

  • Where: Various cricket grounds across the North Shore

  • Season: September to March

This is the next step for players who have completed U8 Cricket Blast or are ready for traditional weekend competition cricket. Matches are played in traditional cricket whites. While girls are welcome to play in these mixed teams, we also offer a dedicated girls-only league (see below).

For complete competition rules, formats, and match structures, view the NSJCA “Blue Book” here.

3) GIRLS ONLY CRICKET

NSJCA Girls Only Cricket - Sixers League

  • Ages: Girls aged 7–17

  • When: Saturdays

  • Where: Ground locations across the North Shore

  • Season: September to March

  • Uniform: Custom coloured team kit (not traditional whites!)

Girls play against other all-girls teams from local North Shore clubs. The Sixers League uses modified rules (short pitches, softer balls for younger ages, and retirement rules) to ensure every player gets to bat, bowl, and field.

Note: Skill level and confidence are the key factors when choosing a team, not just strict age. This welcoming environment is ideal for both absolute beginners and experienced players.
